WOUND CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)
Location: Kellogg, Idaho
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $118k to $145k annually (DOE)***
Schedule: 2 Shifts per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive wound care services across outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, and telehealth settings. The provider will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal wound healing outcomes and improve patient quality of care.
Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic wounds, including diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, burns, and ostomy-related skin conditions
• Perform wound debridement within scope of practice and competency
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, vascular studies, and wound cultures
• Prescribe medications, dressings, and advanced wound care therapies
• Apply and manage negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, biologic dressings, and skin substitutes
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists on complex wound care cases
• Provide patient and family education regarding wound prevention and management
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives
Requirements:
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Idaho or ability to obtain
• Board Certification as FNP, AGNP, or related specialty
• Current DEA registration (if prescribing controlled substances)
• Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWCN, CWON, or equivalent)
• Previous wound care or surgical experience
• Experience in rural healthcare or outpatient clinic settings
