Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Shape the future of young learners as a Special Education Teacher through a full-time contract opportunity supporting students in PreK or grades 6-8. You'll provide vital instruction, intervention, and individualized education plan (IEP) implementation to early childhood or middle school students, based on your expertise and assignment. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience or strong interest working with early childhood or middle school populations
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Ability to adapt instruction to various learning needs and styles
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff, and specialists
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Maintain a caseload of 10-20 (PreK) or 22 (middle school) students, ensuring each receives appropriate supports
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Monitor and document student progress; update IEPs as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
- Travel between multiple sites as assigned (PreK position), or serve at one middle school campus (grades 6-8 position)
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
These roles are for the 2026-2027 school year, with the PreK position running from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027 (7:30–3:30), and the middle school position operating on a similar school year schedule (8:00–4:00). Both are 40-hour-per-week positions, and in-person teaching is preferred, especially for the younger students.
