School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Greer, South Carolina

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a positive impact working with students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the vibrant Simpsonville and Greer area of South Carolina. This contract opportunity covers the 2026-2027 school year, from August 4th, 2026 through May 27th, 2027, including dedicated planning days at both the start and end of the assignment.

Enjoy a part-time schedule of two days per week, with each day comprising 7.5 hours for a total of 15 hours weekly. You’ll work with a manageable caseload—most COTAs see around 8 to 10 students each day, with sessions averaging about 30 minutes per student and approximately 5 hours spent on direct service daily. An experienced Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) supervisor will be available for support, ensuring you have the guidance necessary to succeed in a dynamic educational setting.

Necessary qualifications and experience:

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in South Carolina
• Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric therapy highly preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering student independence and progress

Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborating with school staff and OTR supervisor to develop and implement effective interventions
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress
• Participating in team meetings and planning sessions as needed
