Special Education Teacher in Tilton, NH

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher skilled at supporting elementary-aged students in a resource classroom environment. This full-time position is based near Tilton, NH, beginning August 31, 2026, and continuing through June 17, 2026, with the possibility of a few pre- or post-term planning days.

The caseload focuses on 1st through 4th-grade students, with each case manager assigned approximately 15–20 students. Your pupils will benefit from a collaborative setting that includes 1:1 paraprofessional support and behavior analysts. Responsibilities span a mix of resource classroom instruction and some in-class support (push-ins), fostering individualized academic and behavioral growth for each learner.

What we’re seeking:

• New Hampshire Educator Teaching Certification (required)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher working with grades 1–4
• Strong ability to design and implement IEPs
• Skilled at managing varied learning and behavioral needs
• Effective communication with teachers, students, and families
• Collaborative spirit for working alongside paraprofessionals and specialists

Your key responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and accommodations in a resource classroom
• Coordinate and implement IEPs, regularly tracking student progress
• Collaborate with grade-level teachers, paras, and behavior analysts to address academic, social, and behavioral goals
• Provide occasional push-in services within general education classrooms
• Maintain clear documentation and communication with parents and the support team
