A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed on a contract basis for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is near the Taylors, SC area, largely serving school sites in Simpsonville and/or Greer, with specific sites to be finalized.
This role is perfect for a COTA seeking a flexible, part-time schedule. Work 2 days a week (7.5 hours per day) providing high-impact services from August 4th, 2026 through May 27th, 2027, which includes critical pre and post-planning days. You’ll join a dedicated special education team, working with small caseloads and collaborating closely with an available OTR supervisor provided by the district.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license issued by the state of South Carolina
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage caseloads efficiently, seeing approximately 8-10 students per day in 30-minute sessions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting student achievement and engagement
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and the supervising occupational therapist
- Adapt activities to each student’s unique needs and developmental levels
- Participate in pre-service and post-service planning and meetings
