American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of inpatient MRI experience, ARRT-MR certification, and Epic proficiency for a weekend day shift contract at a primary stroke center hospital in North Carolina.
Details- Work in a community hospital with 96 licensed beds designated as a primary stroke center
- Single MRI room performing brain, orthopedic, and spine studies as the primary volume
- Patient population includes outpatient, inpatient, and ED patients, with a predominantly outpatient mix throughout the day
- Weekday volume averages 15–17 patients daily; weekend volume averages 10–12 patients daily
- EMR: Epic — experience required
- Equipment: Siemens Aera 1.5T with Deep Resolve software
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- This position requires every weekend availability
- No on-call or floating requirements
- Minimum of 1 year MRI experience, must include inpatient experience with most recent experience within the last year
- Active ARRT-MR certification required — ARMRIT not accepted
- Current BLS required
- Epic EMR experience required
- IV skills required
- Experience working with ED, inpatient, and outpatient populations
- License required if applicable
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Radiologist coverage is a mix of onsite and virtual; when the radiologist is not onsite, ED physicians manage contrast reactions
- The department does not currently scan patients with pacemakers
- Department support includes a supervisor, lead tech, scheduler, daytime transport (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM), and a dedicated tech extender on weekends
- Orientation length is typically 1 week, adjusted based on comfort level
- Black scrubs required; free parking available
- Team-oriented unit culture
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
