American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult PACU position in Oklahoma City, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and current AHA certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Details- Work setting is a hospital Adult PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Schedule runs 7am–7pm with a 30-day rolling schedule
- 2 on-call shifts required per schedule cycle
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications — all must be issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions, medical treatments, and physician order changes
- Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to apply again
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon accepting an offer — compliance deadlines are firm and non-negotiable
