HiFyve is hiring a Manual Machinist!


Starting Pay: $26.00 -$36.09/hour

Shift: 3rd (10:30pm - 7am) Sun - Thur

Location: Milwaukee Metro Area


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate engine lathes, pull bores, trepan machines, and push boring machines
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining production and quality standards
  • Determine machine setups and alignments to maintain tight tolerances and concentricity requirements
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates based on material and job requirements
  • Determine operation sequences to achieve required dimensions and surface finishes
  • Modify and grind tooling as needed to accommodate varying materials and machining conditions
  • Assist other machinists with machine setups and troubleshooting as needed
  • Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments based on cutting conditions or machine behavior
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Perform machine cleanouts and routine housekeeping to support production operations
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean work environment


Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical machining education or apprenticeship training is a plus


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1–3 years of machining experience required
  • Experience operating manual lathes, boring mills, or similar machining equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
  • Strong shop math skills required
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges
  • General knowledge of machining practices, setups, tooling, and cutting parameters
  • Ability to maintain close tolerances and quality standards
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and lifting devices preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
