Job Title: CVOR Surgical Technologist

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: 5x8-Hour Shifts | 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM
Compensation: $2,000 – $2,300 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to join a cardiovascular surgical team in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, sterile technique, and surgical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, and vascular surgical procedures.
• Prepare and organize operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during operations.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and operating room safety standards.
• Perform surgical counts and assist in maintaining accountability of instruments, sponges, and supplies.
• Support patient positioning and preparation for surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with inventory management as needed.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical cases.

Required QualificationsEducation

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Certifications

• Current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Current BLS Certification required.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of consecutive Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience required.
• Strong recent experience with:
  • Cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Vascular surgery procedures
• Previous travel assignment experience required.
• Ability to work independently and confidently in a CVOR environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Experience with complex cardiovascular surgical cases including open-heart procedures.

• Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and procedures.
• Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-acuity surgical settings.
