Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 36 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with CPSI is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a New Mexico license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Artesia General Hospital.

Additional Details:

Dress Code: Artificial nails are not permitted. Hair coloring must be natural colors, acceptable hair coverings should be worn if hair coloring is outside of natural color. Visible face and neck tattoos are not acceptable. Tattoos reflecting racial, nudity, or derogatory images or words must be covered.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips. - Must have 3 years of MS-Tele experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - PCU/Stepdown experience preferred. - Ability to maintain intubation preferred.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling is not guaranteed; manager will ask for an ideal schedule, but travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staff schedules. Manager will try to accommodate requests, but will not sacrifice permanent staff schedules to accommodate special requested schedules.

Unit Details: - Medical/Surgical/PCU patient population. - Patients in the PCU area can be very ill, on drips, and have invasive monitors. - RNs occasionally titrate drips. - Common titratable drips include insulin, amiodarone, and levofed; multiple drip protocols. - Uses Mindray cardiac monitors and TruBridge - Evident. - Charge nurse takes a lighter patient assignment; travelers are typically not asked to serve in charge. - Nurse aides are available at a 1:8 ratio; nurses perform AccuChecks. - Respiratory therapy is in house 24/7; the unit accepts continuous BiPAP/CPAP.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - May be asked to participate in holiday rotation. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Depending on competency, may be called upon to work in PCU within the department; there is no ICU in the hospital, and patients needing a higher level of care are transferred to a higher-level hospital.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 reference required from within the last 3 years
