About this job
Job Description
At START in Rochester, MI, you’ll be the steady hand that keeps our thermoplastic molding presses running smoothly from the first cycle to the last. Picture your day as a rhythm of machine checks, precise movements, and quality-first decisions—all contributing to finished parts that meet exact specifications.
A Day in the LifeYou arrive to a clean, organized work cell. After a quick handoff with your lead, you power up the press, verify settings, and scan the production board. As the machine cycles, you keep a sharp eye out for irregular sounds or motions, ready to intervene before small issues become downtime. Parts release; you remove them using the right hand tools and air hoses, then trim to spec and record cycle time and part counts with accuracy.
Throughout the shift, you perform autonomous maintenance routines, keep the area spotless, and communicate with your supervisor to coordinate priorities. You finish the day the way you started—upholding department guidelines, safety, and quality standards, with every production sheet filled out completely and correctly.
