Job Description
The Spine Coordinator manages patient journeys for spine conditions, acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and external facilities, handling scheduling, care coordination, pre/post-op instructions, insurance authorizations, EMR management, and ensuring smooth transitions across the care continuum for optimal outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities (Non-Occupational Exposure):
- Serves as the main point of contact, answering questions, addressing concerns, and relaying information between patients and providers.
- Schedules new and returning patients, ensuring they see the most appropriate provider, and coordinating injections, diagnostic tests, and surgeries.
- Tracks patient progress, arranges follow-ups, communicates with outside facilities, and manages referrals. Follow up on test results.
- Requests, reviews, and uploads external records (like MRIs) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Handles patient intake, updates records, manages authorizations, and may assist providers with procedures or post-op care.
- Guides patients and caregivers through the surgical process, explaining expectations for before, during, and after treatment.
- Completion of all required compliance and safety training.
- Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare, clinical, or hospital.
LPN or CMA, current and in good standing.
Experience in medical records, claims, or billing.
Strong keyboarding and computer skills.
Able to perceive and interpret written, oral/verbal material and generate written and electronic material.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience in healthcare setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance terminology.
Experience with insurance authorizations and eligibility.
Knowledgeable in programs such as Availity and insurance websites.

- Mankato office: 1431 Premier Drive | Mankato, MN 56001
- Full-time position M-F 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. with flexibility.
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
