APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Sterling Height, MI looking to add a Die Setter to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be setting up, changing over, and maintaining production tooling, dies, and auxiliary equipment to ensure machines operate safely, efficiently, and according to production specifications. What your day will look like:
- Set up, change over, and install production and sample tooling according to process specifications.
- Prepare machines, auxiliary equipment, and workstations for safe and efficient production runs.
- Read, complete, and maintain process setup sheets and production documentation.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on tooling, dies, and production equipment.
- Remove and replace tooling during changeovers while minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate with production support personnel to ensure equipment, materials, and work areas are production-ready.
- Start up machines, monitor process parameters, and troubleshoot setup-related issues as needed.
- Assist with training operators and supporting daily production activities.
- Maintain tooling and equipment in proper working condition and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow and enforce all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
- Assist supervisors with production planning, work assignments, problem resolution, and other operational needs as directed.
What we are looking for:
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, tooling, machine setup, or a related industrial environment.
- Proficient in working with standard and metric measurement systems and applying measurements accurately in production settings.
- Ability to read, interpret, and utilize production data, specifications, and process-related calculations.
- Maintain accurate setup records, production documentation, and maintenance logs.
- Read and understand safety policies, operating procedures, quality standards, and equipment maintenance instructions.
- Follow detailed work instructions, setup sheets, and technical procedures.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, technical drawings, and product specifications to support tooling and machine setup activities.
