Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Lima, Ohio

Start Date: 06-30-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts with 36-hour guarantee, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Provide specialized post-operative open heart care with chest tube and drain management
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage temporary pacemakers and non-invasive ventilation equipment
• Support pre- and post-procedure care for radial and femoral access patients
• Float to units within your skill level to support team needs
• Teach and direct non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and care planning
• Age-specific care delivery
• Cardiac and pulmonary abnormality recognition
• Non-invasive ventilation and high-flow oxygen systems
• Critical care experience highly valued

Requirements

• Active Ohio or Compact RN License required
• 2+ years of nursing experience with post-operative open heart care
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Experience with chest tube management and temporary pacemaker care
• Skills checklist current within the last year for PCU specialty
