Sales Associate - Full-time / Part-time

Nuthouse Hardware is New York's only 24-hour hardware store. This means that you will have a flexible schedule, whether you are looking to work during the day or night. Our clientele includes both consumers and professionals.

Job summary

As a sales associate, you will assist customers fulfill their hardware needs, tackle projects, and make sure they have a pleasant shopping experience. The job consists of working the register, stocking items, taking inventory, and providing customers with information regarding plumbing, electrical, paint, and hardware.

Expectations

• Willingness to take initiative, especially regarding customer service and the store's appearance
• Help customer's find the best products for their needs
• Stock and organize shelves
• Answer and assist customers on the phone
• Some knowledge of hardware and/or construction
• Willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and communication skills
• Communication with management
• Ideally 50+ hour work week
• Preferably over 1 year of work experience
• Preferably hardware store or trade experience

Open interviews

Walk-in Monday thru Saturday from 7:00 - 9:00 AM or 4:00-7:00 PM

Preferred qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in the retail industry
• 18 years or older
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Retail skills: customer service
• Retail skills: point of sale (POS) operation
• Retail skills: restocking
• Comfortable handling customer complaints
• Able to stand for duration of shift
