Job Description
We are seeking a Server Systems Administrator.
Face to Face interview only.
The candidate must reside in Tallahassee or the surrounding area and report to the office 5 days a week.
Experience Required:
- 8 years of experience as a System Admin.
- 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
- 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services.
- 4 years experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- 4 years IIS Administration.
- 4 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions.
- 4 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required.
- 4 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired.
- 4 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired.
- 4 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks
The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors).
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
- Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
- Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
- Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
- Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
- Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures.
2. In-depth knowledge of AWS Services.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Services.
4. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products.
5. In-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu).
6. Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development technology and architectures
7. Strong grasp of Linux administration, including Linux patching.
