Senior Medical Assistant -- Clinical Research Training Track

Valley Institute of Research is hiring a Senior Medical Assistant to support clinical research trials and train into a Clinical Research Coordinator role.

This is a good opportunity for an experienced MA who is organized, dependable, patient-focused, and interested in growing beyond traditional clinic work.

Responsibilities

Support patient visits
Perform vital signs checks, phlebotomy, lab handling, medical history review, and basic visit support
Assist with patient recruitment, scheduling, reminders, and follow-up calls
Help collect and organize documents, lab reports, and medical records
Work with physicians, coordinators, monitors, and research staff
Learn clinical research documentation, protocol compliance, and study workflows

Requirements

2+ years of Medical Assistant experience required
3+ years preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish required
Strong patient communication and follow-up skills
Comfortable with EMR systems, phones, records, vitals, and clinic workflows
Phlebotomy experience required
EKG experience preferred
Must be reliable, organized, and able to follow detailed instructions

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience in family medicine, internal medicine, GI, urgent care, or another high-volume clinic setting. Prior research experience is not required — we are willing to train the right person.
