Orthopedic Trauma Call • Level II Trauma Center • In-House Weekend Coverage

Opportunity Details

• Location: Joplin, Missouri
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Coverage: Ongoing
• Scheduled Coverage: Starting 08/01/2026
• In-House Call Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM (in-house); any 2 weekends per month
• Setting: Level II trauma center orthopedic trauma call coverage

Schedule Details

• In-house weekend call coverage (Friday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM)
• Any 2 weekends per month; scheduling coordinated around locum availability

Clinical Scope

• Orthopedic trauma call coverage at a Level II trauma center
• Adult emergency orthopedic cases (general and trauma orthopedics)
• Orthopedic trauma procedures as part of daily patient-facing responsibilities
• Approximately 8 hours of total patient-facing time per day
• No designated trauma ORs; daily 7:00 AM trauma block

Practice Environment

• Level II trauma center
• Approximately 40,000 adult emergency visits annually
• General and trauma orthopedic care provided

Requirements

• Active Missouri medical license
• DEA registration
• Board eligible or board certified in orthopaedics
• Relevant clinical experience in orthopedic trauma
• Level II trauma center experience preferred
• Trauma fellowship not required; Level II trauma experience acceptable
