We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Rockford, Michigan.
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a customer-facing environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and can independently lead programs from concept through production. As a Project Engineer, you will serve as a trusted customer partner, technical leader, and key driver of project success.
What You'll DoLead highly complex customer programs and engineering projects from concept through production
Serve as the primary engineering contact for strategic customer accounts
Build strong customer relationships through responsiveness, technical expertise, and proactive communication
Lead technical discussions, project reviews, and customer meetings
Develop innovative engineering solutions that balance customer requirements, manufacturability, quality, and cost
Drive project timelines, priorities, risk management, and cross-functional coordination
Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to ensure successful project execution
Anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions to keep programs on track
Support new product launches, product enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and support future business growth
Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field
7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven success managing customer-facing engineering projects and programs
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Experience working directly with customers to understand requirements and develop solutions
Proficiency with CAD software, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally. (limited travel)
