Class A CDL Delivery Driver

H.T. Hackney Co., a privately-owned, broad-line convenience store distributor with over 134 years of service, is seeking energetic and dedicated individuals to join our Delivery Team as we move forward into 2026. We’re now accepting applications for Class A Delivery Driver positions at our Gallatin facility, conveniently located at 433 Calvert Dr. Gallatin, TN 37066.

JOB DUTIES: What exactly will I be doing?

The Class A-Delivery Driver role at The H.T. Hackney Co. involves safely and efficiently delivering grocery products to convenience stores across East Tennessee. Routes start early in the morning, using a day cab tractor with a refrigerated pup trailer for deliveries. All freight is unloaded with a hand truck or dolly into the store, with responsibility for making sure every order is accurate and on time. A friendly personality and top-notch customer service skills are essential for success in this position.

Driving for The H.T. Hackney Co. comes with great perks like set routes so you can get to know your customers, dedicated tractors with no slip seating, in-cab electronic logs and GPS, no merchandising or sales duties, trailers loaded by warehouse staff, on-site fueling and repair, and best of all, sleeping in your own bed every night. A typical route includes 5-12 stops, 500-700 cubes of product, and averages about 10.5 hours per shift. We’re also excited to share that all fleet trailers now have automatic rear-opening doors to make our drivers’ days safer and easier.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Deliveries run Monday through Friday, with no service on weekends. Shift lengths vary based on sales volume, and some routes start as early as 4:00 a.m.

POSITION REQUIRMENTS:

• Valid Class A CDL
• Able to drive a manual transmission
• Demonstrated safe driving history
• Ability to safely park and unload trailer using a hand truck/dolly
• Pleasant and helpful demeanor, must be a "people person"
• Motivated to work independently but also works well with others
• Enjoys being physically active at work
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Dependable, punctual and work as scheduled
• Pass pre-employment DOT regulated drug screen & physical
• Must be 21+ for consideration
