Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:30–20:00) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including 1:1 nursing care during the first 12 hours following surgery
• Manage ventilated patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and support devices including Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, and Impella
• Perform groin and radial artery management including fem stop and TR band application
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CABG, valve surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, AFib with RVR, cardiogenic shock, peripheral bypasses, EVAR, and VATS
• Float within specialty as needed, including IMC and lower-acuity settings, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (1:2 CVICU/CCRU; 1:3 IMC)

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact License at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers considered with 2+ years of extensive CVICU/open heart experience
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Willingness to float within specialty with no restrictions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with open heart surgery patient populations including CABG and valve procedures
• Familiarity with vascular and thoracic surgical patient care
• Prior travel nursing experience
