Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for all age groups, including medical and telemetry patients
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
• Perform drug titration and manage telemetry equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
• Float on a rotational basis as required by unit needs
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to start date
• Demonstrated experience and competence in drug titration
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1 (declinations not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with patients with developmental delays
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Personality traits of being determined, decisive, and flexible in a fast-paced environment
