Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Acute Neuro Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, Monday – Sunday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on an Acute Neuro Med/Surg unit supporting services including neurosurgery, neurology, ear/nose/throat surgery, and general surgery
• Assess and monitor patients recovering from acute illnesses or surgical procedures
• Deliver care to a mixed patient population ranging from ambulatory patients capable of partial self-care to bedridden patients requiring total care
• Perform ongoing neurological and clinical assessments to identify changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current ACLS certification
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an acute neurology or neurosurgical nursing environment
• Familiarity with post-operative care for ENT and general surgery patients
