Job Description
Job Description
This role supports a busy food production facility by performing a mix of indoor and outdoor general labor tasks. You will clean and maintain equipment and product bins, assist with production activities in refrigerated areas, and help keep the warehouse organized and running smoothly. The position requires comfort working in varying temperatures and around strong food-related smells, as well as the ability to handle physical, hands-on work throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Work in a food production environment to support daily manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Clean product bins and equipment thoroughly, including power washing and general sanitation tasks.
- Perform outdoor duties such as power washing, painting equipment, and handling general yard and tank area upkeep.
- Carry out general labor duties including taking out trash and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Work in refrigerated areas to repalletize product, ensuring items are stacked safely and correctly.
- Sort finished boxes and product according to established standards and requirements.
- Assist with basic inventory tasks, including counting, organizing, and tracking product as directed.
- Operate as part of a production line team, rotating between tasks and positions based on operational needs.
- Use pallet jacks and other basic warehouse tools to move materials and product safely.
- Follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines, including proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to safety procedures at all times and promptly report any hazards or issues to supervision.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for first-shift hours, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks in a production and warehouse environment.
- Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for extended periods, including shifts ranging from 10 to 12 hours depending on the production line.
- Capability to work effectively on a production line and adapt to different roles and tasks as needed.
- Basic experience or familiarity with warehouse and production environments.
- Ability to use a pallet jack for moving product and materials.
- Reliability in following instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines in a food manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in warehouse, production, or general labor roles is beneficial.
- Experience working on a production line, including packing and repalletizing, is an advantage.
- Comfort working around strong food-related smells such as garlic, jalapeños, salsa, and taco sauce.
- Willingness to learn new lines, processes, and machinery over time.
- Flexibility to rotate between different tasks and areas based on operational needs.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
The company offers a supportive environment where employees can learn multiple lines and machinery, gaining valuable hands-on experience in food manufacturing. Team members have the opportunity to grow into higher-responsibility positions, as the organization prefers to promote from within rather than hiring externally for roles such as forklift and machine operators. This creates a clear path for advancement for individuals who show reliability, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Work Environment
The role is based in a food manufacturing and production facility that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas. Temperatures vary with the seasons, with conditions being cold in the winter and warm in the summer, and some tasks take place in refrigerated areas. Employees work around strong food aromas from products such as garlic, jalapeños, salsa, and taco sauce. Shifts typically run 10 or 12 hours depending on the production line, and the schedule for this position is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The environment requires prolonged standing and consistent physical activity. As part of food safety and personal protection requirements, employees wear gloves, hair nets, beard nets where applicable, ear plugs, and safety glasses, all of which are provided. Team members must supply their own steel-toe boots. The facility uses common warehouse tools such as pallet jacks, and emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to food manufacturing standards.
