Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee community solar projects located throughout Illinois. These projects range from 1 to 2.5 MW in size. The successful candidate will manage daily operations and administrative duties on-site, working closely with sub-vendors and foremen to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site.
  • Report directly to the Senior Construction Manager with daily progress and safety updates.
  • Oversee sub-vendors and coordinate with their foremen.
  • Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subcontractors.
  • Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and ensure adherence with the Senior Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate deliveries and equipment with the logistics team and subcontractors.
  • Review and work with construction blueprints, project plans, and specifics daily.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in construction management, preferably in commercial, electrical, or civil sectors.
  • Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management or extensive construction management experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience managing sub-vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PDF, Word, and Excel.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Solar experience is a major plus.
  • Electrician or electrical experience is beneficial.
  • OSHA 30 certification (can be arranged if expired or for strong candidates).
Work Environment

The work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer, primarily in central and northwest Illinois. The role involves coordinating with electrical and civil subcontractors on-site. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 40 hours a week. Overtime must be approved by a supervisor and is not common in this role. The dress code requires construction attire, including jeans, a t-shirt, and proper PPE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
