Shipping Coordinator (Temp-to-Hire) - 3rd Shift

Location: Peru, IL
Pay: $19.50/hour
Schedule:

• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Training required on 1st and/or 2nd shift prior to transition

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join a growing warehouse in Peru. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for candidates looking to grow with a stable organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage inbound shipment scheduling
• Communicate with carriers via phone and email regarding availability, delays, and delivery updates
• Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records using SAP or similar systems
• Count and verify product inventory for accuracy
• Assist in shipping department operations to ensure timely processing of orders
• Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for reporting and communication
• Support team operations by multitasking across various shipping functions
• Operate (or learn to operate) a small forklift to assist with department needs

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in a transportation, logistics, or shipping department preferred
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High level of dependability and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and operate a small forklift
