Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract position spans from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, providing you with the chance to make a profound impact over the academic year. The role is based near Brighton, Colorado, just northeast of Denver, and involves guiding a classroom of motivated learners with the assistance of three dedicated paraprofessionals.
As a key member of the team, you will manage a caseload of nine students, creating individualized educational plans and facilitating growth both academically and socially.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Special Education Teaching Licensure through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is required
- Proven experience working with high school students in a special education setting
- Strong grasp of developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborative spirit for effectively leading and mentoring paraprofessional staff
- Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and families
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and academic interventions for students with significant support needs
- Lead three paraprofessionals, ensuring consistent collaboration and support for student success
- Develop and monitor IEPs and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines
- Partner with families and related service providers to optimize student achievement
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Contribute to a positive school community focused on each learner’s strengths and potential
