Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact this summer as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist in an Extended School Year (ESY) program. Located in a supportive environment near Lakewood, OH, this contract opportunity focuses on PreK students, helping them thrive and meet developmental milestones. The assignment runs from July 6 to August 6, with a convenient Monday through Thursday schedule—enjoy your Fridays off and maximize your summer flexibility.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid license or certification in Special Education or as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist
- Experience working with PreK or early childhood populations
- Solid understanding of early intervention strategies and IEP implementation
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans for individual developmental needs
- Strong collaboration skills with other educators, families, and support staff
- Effective communication and a nurturing, patient approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for PreK students identified for ESY services
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize evidence-based practices to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Adjust teaching strategies based on student responses and learning styles
- Track and document student progress, sharing updates with the team and families as needed
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with related service providers to ensure optimal support
- Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
