Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

This role involves working on a production line in a plastic manufacturing environment, assembling components, operating machines, and performing quality inspections before parts are packaged for shipment. You will rotate through different positions on the line, handle materials safely, and help ensure that every product meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the production line to assemble materials and components according to established procedures.
  • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently under the guidance of experienced operators.
  • Lift parts off the production line, inspect them for quality, and place them into boxes for shipment.
  • Perform visual inspections on parts to identify defects such as scratches, paint marks, dents, or other imperfections.
  • Assemble components and attach parts to the line, ensuring proper fit and placement before packaging.
  • Rotate through different positions on the line based on production needs and personal strengths.
  • Handle materials weighing up to 40 lbs, including lifting and positioning plastic and foam parts such as automotive hoods.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to safety controls.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and reliability, demonstrating longevity and commitment in the role.
  • Work overtime as needed, including coming in early, staying after the regular shift, and working some Saturdays, as well as participating in mandatory 12-hour shifts when required.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of recent manufacturing experience, currently in a manufacturing role or within the last 30 days.
  • Recent experience in a production worker, operator, assembler, or warehouse position within the last 6 months.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift.
  • Physical ability to lift and move plastic and foam parts, such as automotive hoods stacked approximately 5–6 high, and place them next to the workstation.
  • Proven visual inspection experience, including identifying defects such as scratches, paint marks, dents, and other flaws on parts.
  • Ability to provide specific examples of prior roles where you inspected parts and identified defects.
  • Demonstrated longevity in previous positions, with at least 8 months or longer at each of the past three jobs.
  • Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) and to work overtime as required, including extended shifts and some Saturdays.
  • Comfort working in a plastic manufacturing environment that can be hot, especially in the summer.
  • Commitment to following safety rules, including wearing required protective gear and adhering to safety controls.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience working with mechanical components.
  • Experience operating production or manufacturing machines.
  • Comfort working closely with other operators and following direction from more senior operators.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
  • Reliable work history with consistent attendance and performance.

Work Environment

The role is based in a plastic manufacturing facility that can become hot during the summer months. You will work on a production line alongside another operator, with a more experienced operator overseeing the machine. The standard schedule is 3rd shift from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with the expectation of overtime, including starting up to four hours early, staying up to four hours after the shift, some Saturdays, and periods of mandatory 12-hour shifts for hourly employees. The environment requires strict adherence to safety practices, including wearing work pants, a work shirt, closed-toe shoes, and safety glasses. For safety control reasons, long fingernails are not permitted. The facility emphasizes teamwork, rotation among positions, and consistent application of safety and quality standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.95 - $16.95/hr.
