Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting high school students with significant needs in a vibrant classroom setting. This full-time Special Education teaching position spans the academic school year from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You'll work in a collaborative environment near Longmont, CO, focusing on empowering students and fostering growth.

You'll guide a small caseload of nine students in a significant support needs classroom, working alongside three dedicated paraprofessionals. This team-oriented environment encourages innovative teaching and provides ample support so you can concentrate on delivering impactful, individualized instruction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Special Education Teaching License issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is required.
  • Previous experience working with high school-aged students with significant support needs preferred.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt teaching approaches based on individual student plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
  • Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Foster social, academic, and emotional growth for students within the classroom setting.
  • Coordinate and lead classroom activities, ensuring each student has the support and resources necessary to succeed.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to maximize student engagement and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
