Job Description

This role supports environmental cleanup and restoration projects across the North Central West Virginia region. You will perform hands-on field work to assist with containment, cleanup, and the safe removal of contaminated materials in a variety of industrial, commercial, and environmental settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general manual labor including lifting, moving, and disposing of materials on remediation and construction sites.
  • Assist with site setup, including establishing containment areas and preparing work zones for soil, water, or structural remediation projects.
  • Support cleanup activities by helping with the safe removal of contaminated materials and debris.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools to assist with demolition, cleanup, and restoration tasks.
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials at job sites in a safe and organized manner.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, hard hats, and protective suits.
  • Assist with water removal, debris cleanup, and environmental restoration activities as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each project.
  • Travel to various local and regional job sites as needed to support ongoing projects.
  • Participate in tasks related to hazardous waste handling, remediation, tank cleaning, confined space work, and emergency response as trained and assigned.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of general labor, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Comfort working outdoors and in physically demanding environments, including industrial and environmental cleanup sites.
  • Willingness to work in oil and gas, remediation, hazardous waste, and restoration environments as trained.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and consistently use required PPE, including respirators and protective suits.
  • Mechanical aptitude to safely use basic hand and power tools.
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Willingness to work on-call, Monday through Friday, with the potential for weekend work as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in remediation, hazardous waste handling, or restoration work.
  • Experience with tank cleaning, confined space entry, and emergency response activities.
  • HAZWOPER training or certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training.
  • DOT-related training or experience.
  • Prior experience in oil and gas or industrial environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment.

Work Environment

Work takes place at both outdoor and indoor job sites, including industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and environmental cleanup locations. The role involves exposure to dirt, debris, water, and potentially hazardous materials, with proper PPE and safety protocols in place. You can expect physically demanding work that requires frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirators, hard hats, and protective suits is regularly used. You will work in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold, and may work in confined spaces, at heights, or in active construction and cleanup zones. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday with on-call expectations and the possibility of weekend work. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and clear communication.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
