Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
This role supports a truss manufacturing plant by performing a wide range of general labor and production tasks, including material handling, stacking, and basic assembly using hand and power tools. You will work with measuring tools, handle materials safely, and contribute to efficient production operations in a small, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle materials on the manufacturing floor, including loading, unloading, lifting, stacking, and moving products and components.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for basic assembly and production tasks.
- Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure correct dimensions and quality.
- Perform general manual labor tasks as needed to support production operations.
- Assist various functions on the manufacturing floor that require manual labor, excluding warehouse-specific activities.
- Carry out production-related tasks that do not involve operating machines or specialized equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with plant safety standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrate punctuality, consistent attendance, and professionalism throughout each shift.
- Work collaboratively with team members and take initiative to complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Adhere to company policies regarding attendance, conduct, and workplace expectations.
Essential Skills
- Experience with material handling in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to use power tools safely and correctly.
- Ability to use hand tools for basic assembly and production tasks.
- Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly during the shift.
- Strong punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Professionalism and a self-starting attitude with strong initiative.
- Ability to perform general production and general labor tasks without operating machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 0–2 years of experience in a related field (if required by the employer).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general production or general labor roles in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in stacking, sorting, and organizing materials on a production floor.
- Comfort working in a small, team-focused environment.
- Willingness to follow structured attendance and conduct policies.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of production-related tasks as needs change.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant with a small, production-focused team. The standard schedule for the first shift is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some overtime on Fridays as needed. The work involves standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing manual labor tasks throughout the shift. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and ear plugs, is required. The environment follows strict safety and attendance policies, including random drug screens and a structured point-based attendance system. Dress expectations align with a typical industrial setting, emphasizing safety and practicality.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
