Join a busy fabrication team as a Press Brake Operator on 1st shift, where you will read blueprints, perform your own machine setups, and operate a brake press to produce high-quality steel components. You will work in a production environment that supports a wide range of steel processing services, taking material through bending and other operations to meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up the press brake machine independently, including selecting and installing the proper tooling and configuring machine settings for each job.
- Operate the brake press in the fabrication area to bend and form steel parts according to production requirements.
- Perform measurements and use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and decimals, to verify part accuracy.
- Use a computer and AS400 (ERP software) to track production output and record job information accurately.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality, making adjustments as needed to maintain consistent results.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working on the shop floor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the fabrication department.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- At least 6 months of experience operating a machine in a production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for metal fabrication work.
- Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and working with decimals.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use AS400 (ERP software) to track production output.
- Ability to perform machine setup tasks, including configuring a press brake and adjusting settings.
- Comfort working on your feet throughout the shift in a fabrication shop environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
- Education in machining or fabrication from a technical school.
- Hands-on experience performing full setups on a press brake, including selecting and installing proper tooling.
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication or steel processing environment.
- Familiarity with brake press operation, fabrication processes, and blueprint-based production.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic machine or setup issues.

Work Environment

The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency, and you will regularly use computers and AS400 ERP software to track your work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
