Special Education Teacher - Victoria, Virginia

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract role providing essential support to students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year! This full-time opportunity, located near Victoria, VA, offers a highly collaborative environment at both the elementary and middle school levels. You’ll work onsite with manageable co-taught caseloads—grades 3-4 at a primary school and grades 7-8 at a middle school, each group with fewer than 10 students.

What you’ll bring:

• Valid Special Education Teaching credentials for the state of Virginia
• Experience or strong interest in co-teaching models and collaborative instruction
• Proven ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet diverse learners’ needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with both staff and families

• Flexibility and organization to manage multiple tasks and support students across grade levels

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction within co-taught classrooms for grades 3-4 and 7-8
• Work closely with general education teachers to modify curriculum and develop differentiated strategies
• Monitor students’ progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEPs and school policies
• Engage in regular communication with parents, caregivers, and educational teams to support student growth
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
• Uphold a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students can thrive
