Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract role providing essential support to students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year! This full-time opportunity, located near Victoria, VA, offers a highly collaborative environment at both the elementary and middle school levels. You’ll work onsite with manageable co-taught caseloads—grades 3-4 at a primary school and grades 7-8 at a middle school, each group with fewer than 10 students.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credentials for the state of Virginia
- Experience or strong interest in co-teaching models and collaborative instruction
- Proven ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet diverse learners’ needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with both staff and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility and organization to manage multiple tasks and support students across grade levels
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction within co-taught classrooms for grades 3-4 and 7-8
- Work closely with general education teachers to modify curriculum and develop differentiated strategies
- Monitor students’ progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEPs and school policies
- Engage in regular communication with parents, caregivers, and educational teams to support student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
- Uphold a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students can thrive
