Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description

This role focuses on CNC machining in a small, tight-knit machine shop that produces a variety of components. You will operate CNC mills and/or lathes in a production environment, perform offsets and tooling changes, and run ongoing work with minimal supervision. Programming is not required, but strong hands-on machining skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce various components in a production environment.
  • Set up and run CNC machining equipment, including performing tooling changes and adjustments as needed.
  • Perform offsets and make necessary machine adjustments to maintain part quality and accuracy.
  • Monitor ongoing work to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Work with light supervision, taking ownership of machine operation and daily tasks.
  • Follow shop procedures, safety guidelines, and best practices while operating machinery.
  • Troubleshoot basic machining issues and communicate any equipment or quality concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations.
Essential Skills
  • Previous experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC machining, including running ongoing work on mills and lathes.
  • Ability to perform offsets and make machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Ability to handle tooling changes and basic setups on CNC equipment.
  • Comfort working with light supervision and managing daily tasks independently.
  • Experience with Mazak equipment and CNC setups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a small machine shop environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining centers, including mills and lathes.
  • Familiarity with different types of CNC machines and related tooling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to follow established processes and adapt to changing production needs.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small machine shop that focuses on CNC machining of various components. You will work on CNC mills and lathes, including Mazak equipment, and perform setups, offsets, and tooling changes as part of daily operations. The role is on a weekend shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, working 36 hours and being paid for 40. The shop environment emphasizes safe machine operation, organized workspaces, and consistent production processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
