This role supports manufacturing operations by assembling mechanical and electrical components, using hand and power tools, and ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards. You will work on a first-shift schedule in a modern, well-maintained facility, contributing directly to production goals while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components and finished products according to work instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and efficiently to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies throughout the process to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
- Perform occasional shop primer painting on standard products as needed.
- Troubleshoot minor assembly or equipment issues and promptly report concerns to supervisors or maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
- Record production data such as quantities produced, scrap, and cycle times accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals and support smooth production flow.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and skills.
- Review work instructions and production schedules at the start of the shift to plan daily tasks.
- Gather required tools, materials, and components for each job before beginning assembly.
- Conduct in-process quality checks during assembly and address any issues immediately.
- Assist teammates with tasks as needed to maintain overall productivity and throughput.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout the day and at shift end.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and basic schematics.
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on quality and accuracy.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly work.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as required.
- Dependable, team-oriented work ethic with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or similar environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
- Ability to perform basic quality checks and identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production is preferred.
- Mechanical or electrical assembly experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles is beneficial.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation of production metrics.
- Experience interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Background in general labor, construction, or cleaning in an industrial setting is helpful.
- Willingness to learn new tasks, cross-train, and take on additional responsibilities.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.

Work Environment
The role is based in a modern, clean, and well-maintained manufacturing facility in Lockport, NY. You will work a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available based on production needs. The facility is heated in the winter and well-ventilated year-round, providing a comfortable environment that is clean, well-lit, and organized. The workplace operates with a strong emphasis on safety, 5S principles, and respect, fostering a team-oriented culture focused on long-term employee retention.
