Job Summary
A respected healthcare services organization in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduler for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is a strong fit for a detail-oriented medical administrative professional with experience coordinating surgical procedures, patient appointments, insurance authorizations, and EMR documentation.
As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play an important role in helping patients, providers, and clinical teams stay organized and informed throughout the surgical scheduling process. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments, surgical procedures, follow-up visits, and related services.
- Verify insurance coverage, update patient demographics, and ensure accurate registration information.
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance authorizations to support timely patient care.
- Coordinate pre-operative testing, including EKGs, lab work, imaging, and related documentation.
- Request medical records from referring physicians, general providers, and outside facilities.
- Assist patients with questions related to forms, paperwork, scheduling, and general process guidance.
