The Clean Room Operator produces finished packaged and labeled clinical products, including kits, in accordance with batch instructions and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards. This role focuses on accurate production, packaging, and labeling to defined specifications while maintaining strict compliance with good documentation practices and clean room procedures.
Responsibilities
- Produce finished packaged and labeled clinical products, including kits, in accordance with batch instructions and established specifications.
- Follow current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and good documentation practices (GDP) at all times during production and packaging activities.
- Accurately document all work performed, ensuring clear, legible, and complete entries in production records and related documentation.
- Perform manual data entry into tools such as Excel, smart sheets, and the ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and traceability.
- Work effectively with other operators as part of a close-knit production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Conduct visual inspections of products and components in the clean room to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
- Handle clinical packaging and labeling tasks with strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Use tablets and other technology comfortably to record information, track batches, and support production processes.
- Adhere to clean room protocols, including gowning procedures and use of required personal protective equipment.
- Work in cold room environments for short periods (up to approximately 15 minutes at a time) to complete small batch activities.
- Apply basic mathematical skills to perform simple calculations when required during packaging and labeling operations.
- Support a collaborative, team-oriented culture by communicating clearly and working cooperatively with colleagues.
- Knowledge and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Basic knowledge of good documentation practices (GDP) and experience applying them in a production or regulated environment.
- Experience with good documentation practices, including accurate and legible handwritten entries.
- Ability to effectively work with other operators in a team-based production environment.
- Good manual dexterity to handle small components, packaging materials, and labeling tasks.
- Basic communication skills to follow instructions, document work, and collaborate with team members.
- Basic mathematical skills to perform simple calculations as needed.
- Comfort using technology such as tablets, smart sheets, ERP systems, and performing data entry into Excel.
- Ability to work in clean room environments and follow gowning and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work in cold rooms for short periods to complete small batch work.
- Previous pharmaceutical clinical packaging and/or labeling experience is desirable.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device environments is an advantage.
- Prior clean room experience, including inspection and handling of clinical products, is beneficial.
- Comfort working with manual data processes and maintaining accurate records.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail when inspecting and packaging products.

Work Environment
This role is based in clean room facilities where employees follow strict gowning procedures, including wearing gowning suits, shoe covers, hair nets, and beard nets as applicable. Nail polish is not permitted, and piercings must be covered in line with clean room and safety requirements. Work includes short periods in cold rooms, typically up to about 15 minutes at a time, to complete small batch activities; jackets are provided, and employees may use their own jacket if preferred. The team operates in a collaborative, family-like culture, often sharing lunches and organizing potlucks, creating a close-knit and supportive atmosphere. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with 15-minute breaks and a 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. lunch period. Weekend work is minimal, and when overtime is needed, it typically runs from early morning hours and is usually offered on a voluntary basis, often involving only one team at a time.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
