    Job Details
  • Staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for patient care using nursing process and resources within institutional philosophy.
  • Performs unit-specific duties and maintains accurate nursing documentation.
  • Completes initial patient assessments and develops/modifies care plans based on patient and family needs.
  • Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards.
  • Communicates effectively with healthcare team and peers for professional development.
  • Receives bedside shift report and delegates tasks to healthcare team members.
  • Completes and documents RN patient care activities including assessments, vital signs interpretation, medication administration, admission/discharge, hourly rounding, care plan documentation, and patient education.
  • Maintains patient safety with fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
  • Maintains positive attitude promoting healthy work and healing environment.
  • Responds promptly to patient call lights and uses critical thinking to evaluate patient condition and neurological changes.
  • Provides competent care for patients with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery, including immediate response to neurological changes and seizure activity.
    Job Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Required education: ASN.
  • Preferred education: BSN.
  • Required certifications and licensure: Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association).
    Schedule Information
  • Day shift.
  • 3 shifts per week.
  • 12 hours per day.
  • 36 hours per week.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Neuro Med/Surg unit.
  • Care for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, trauma, and surgery.
  • Ability to identify and respond to neurological changes and seizure activity.
  • Follows unit standards for documentation and patient care.
