Our client seeks a Tactical Network Engineer to serve as a focal point and subject matter expert for Program Manager C2 Transport supporting PdM Network Modernization across At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks. The role includes configuration, validation, and testing of tactical network systems, technical leadership across stakeholders, and coordination of system development and integration activities. The engineer will manage and document configurations, incidents, and test artifacts, support planning conferences, develop and deliver briefings, and execute network setup, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown while collaborating with unit and support personnel.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert for tactical networks across ATH, OTM, and SATCOM.
- Identify and report problems, recommend resolutions, and manage documentation of configurations, incidents, and tests.
- Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
- Provide technical leadership to align actions, schedules, and resolve conflicting viewpoints.
- Coordinate system development tasks with systems engineering leads based on integration challenges and new requirements.
- Oversee development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software.
- Collaborate across embedded support teams to implement plans of action and meet objectives.
- Represent program leadership at planning conferences and coordinate operations and objectives with stakeholders.
- Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture planning, and test status.
- Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
- Work closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel to coordinate activities.
Experience Requirements:
- Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience at minimum.
- Extensive experience in network engineering with a record of delivering quality solutions.
- Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services desired.
- Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or in active, reserve, or National Guard units desired.
- Experience with PdM Network Modernization products desired.
- Ability to support uncommon tours including nights, weekends, and holidays as mission requires.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Testing, or related field with eight years of related experience, or fifteen years of related tactical network engineering experience without a degree.
- Mandatory: U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
