Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Inside Sales Travel Advisor to help travelers discover and book exceptional vacation experiences. You should be a relationship-focused sales professional who understands that travel decisions often require multiple conversations and touchpoints. You should excel at building trust, maintaining consistent follow-up, and helping customers confidently choose the right vacation experience. You should be proactive, organized, customer-centric, and passionate about travel. You should also be comfortable balancing consultative conversations, outbound prospecting, and closing opportunities while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the business.
This role focuses on converting inbound inquiries and marketing-generated leads into confirmed reservations while providing outstanding customer service throughout the sales journey. We're looking for someone who has experience in leisure travel, escorted tours, group travel, or vacation package sales and enjoys building relationships with prospective travelers. You need strong sales skills, consistent follow-up, effective use of CRM tools, and the ability to guide customers from initial inquiry through final booking.
Responsibilities:
- Engage prospective travelers via phone, email, and CRM-driven outreach to promote vacation packages and travel experiences.
- Convert inbound inquiries and marketing-qualified leads into booked travelers.
- Maintain regular communication with prospects through calls, emails, and personalized follow-up strategies.
- Manage and update sales opportunities within CRM and reservation platforms, ensuring accurate records and follow-up activities.
- Utilize structured sales processes, nurturing campaigns, and outreach sequences to advance leads through the booking cycle.
- Respond promptly to traveler questions regarding destinations, itineraries, pricing, accommodations, availability, and travel requirements.
- Consult with customers to understand their travel preferences, budget, timing, and vacation goals.
- Recommend travel options that best align with customer interests and needs.
- Re-engage inactive leads, website inquiries, brochure requests, event-generated prospects, and previous travelers.
- Conduct outbound prospecting efforts to generate new bookings and strengthen customer relationships.
- Deliver exceptional customer support before and after the booking process.
- Partner with marketing and operational teams to improve lead conversion strategies and enhance the customer experience.
- Achieve or exceed established sales, revenue, conversion, and activity goals.
- Maintain detailed customer records, notes, and booking information within company systems.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upgrades, travel protection plans, trip extensions, and additional services.
- Stay current on travel products, destinations, promotions, industry developments, and company offerings.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in travel sales, tour operations, vacation packages, escorted travel, leisure travel, or related industries.
- Proven success converting prospects into paying customers.
- Experience working within CRM platforms and maintaining a structured sales pipeline.
- Familiarity with reservation systems and booking management processes.
- Confidence making outbound calls and conducting persistent follow-up activities.
- Strong customer service orientation and professional communication skills.
- Experience using multi-touch sales methods including phone, email, task management, and automated follow-up campaigns.
- Understanding of the travel purchasing process, including deposits, payment schedules, customer objections, and booking timelines.
- Ability to explain travel products, pricing, and value propositions clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer conversations simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Comfortable working in a goal-oriented, fast-paced sales environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and sales methodologies.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team objectives and contribute to a customer-focused culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience selling guided tours, group departures, affinity travel programs, senior travel, or vacation packages.
- Background working for a travel agency, tour operator, cruise line, or travel services provider.
- Experience with CRM and reservation tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, ClientBase, TravelJoy, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with lead nurturing campaigns, automated outreach workflows, and marketing funnel strategies.
- Knowledge of domestic and international travel destinations.
- Consistent record of meeting or surpassing sales targets.
