Job Description

Lube Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

Lube Technicians are the face of a vehicle servicing company, facilitating maintenance and repairs on vehicles for customers as they come into the shop. Their duties and responsibilities include:

Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications.
Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.
Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.
Performing multi point inspection.
Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.
Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehicles’ issues.
Creating detailed service reports for customers.
An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.
Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles.
A valid drivers license and the ability to work legally in the US.
Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds.
