Family & Emergency Medicine
Ada, MN
Do you enjoy rural medicine? We are looking for a part-time practitioner to provide Family Medicine services and Emergency Medicine coverage to the community of Ada and its surrounding area. Join a team of 1 PT MD and 2 FT APPs and 2+ casual APPs in this low-volume, small, friendly provider group with strong teamwork and work ethics. A great variety in practice, strong community involvement and a beautiful facility make this an ideal position for the practitioner who enjoys an independent practice setting.
- 0.6 FTE, part-time
- 11 clinic exam rooms and 1 procedure room
- 3-4 ER patients per 24 hr period and 28-32 clinic visits per clinic day split between 2 providers; may round on 1-2 inpatients/swing bed patients per day
- Monday & Friday Family Medicine clinic from 8am-5pm and twelve (12) 63 hours Emergency/Walk-In weekend shifts per year (typically 4:30pm Friday through 8am Monday.) *ER call may vary depending on all provider schedules
- On-site housing provided for overnights/weekend call coverage; the clinic offers a small apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, small living room with couch/tv and kitchenette.
- Must be Family Medicine trained/certified to provide care for all ages and comfortable working with minimal supervision (only provider on-site at times). ER experience a plus!
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR; ACLS certification and either CALS or ATLS is required
- National certification, in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
