Job Description
NATURE OF WORK:
Under general supervision, supervises front office clerical staff; performs a variety of skilled administrative functions; acts as MULES Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC); and performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise front desk reception, records custodian, CCW clerk, warrants clerks, and MIBRS clerk.
• Act as MULES Terminal Agency Coordinator.
• Schedule and maintain security awareness training records for employees.
• Prepare documentation for systems audit.
• Prepare schedules, review reports, and evaluate performance of those under supervision.
• Coordinate and attend clerical staff training; may require travel.
• Develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with sheriff's office staff and the public.
• Assist in the selection process of clerical staff applicants.
• Assist in the training of new clerical staff.
• Competence and compliance of all applicable rules, regulations, legal standards and best practices related to law enforcement administrative duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of law enforcement sensitive information.
• Assists in performance of front office duties such as front desk and phone reception, CCW, records requests, warrant entry and review, and other duties as needed or assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending reaching, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and resident of Missouri; must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent; higher education is desired. A valid driver's license, Notary Public License, and/or other specialized certifications may be required. MULES certification, law enforcement or related clerical experience, and supervisory experience are desired. Must successfully complete the sheriffs preemployment background investigation and testing to include illegal drug screening, occupational health screening, and a truth verification interview.
