At Main Street Auto, we are seeking a motivated Automotive Technician / Mechanic to service passenger cars and light trucks. Core Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Utilize both universal scanning tools and advanced, vehicle-specific diagnostic software to systematically pinpoint mechanical and electrical faults.
- Comprehensive Repairs: Perform bumper-to-bumper repairs and routine maintenance on a wide variety of passenger cars and light trucks.
- Precision Parts Replacement: Efficiently replace worn or faulty components (engines, transmissions, brake systems, and suspensions) to restore vehicle functionality to OEM standards.
- Rigorous Safety Checks: Conduct comprehensive multi-point inspections and safety checks to ensure every vehicle leaving our bays meets strict road safety standards.
- Digital Documentation: Accurately document all completed repairs, inspection findings, and fluid/part measurements via our shop management software.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of professional automotive repair experience (Independent shop or dealership setting preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of internal combustion engine repair, modern brake systems, steering/suspension, and automotive electrical systems.
- Tool Proficiency: Comfortable and proficient using modern diagnostic computers, scanners, and standard shop hand/power tools.
- Credentials: High school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
