Position title: Inventory Specialist

Duration: 5 Months

Location: Boise, ID USA 83702

Pay rate: $24/Hour on W2 basis


Job description: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient management of organizational assets, equipment, supplies, and materials. This position oversees inventory tracking, receiving, storage, distribution, and reconciliation activities to support operational needs while maintaining accountability and compliance with established policies and procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with inventory tracking and administrative projects.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment, supplies, materials, and organizational assets.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, distributions, and disposals.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure efficient access and accountability.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts, cycle counts, and physical audits to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged goods.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and inventory control standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement staff and internal departments regarding inventory needs and deliveries.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including stocking, labeling, packaging, and shipping activities.


Requirements:

  • This is a summer internship only.
  • Some inventory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems, asset tracking methods, and recordkeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of data entry and keeping excel sheets up to date.
  • Knowledge of auditing and inventory reconciliation procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical in this role.


Education:

  • High School Diploma.
