Medical Assistant

Location: Martinsburg, WV 25403

Schedule: Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $19.00-$23.00 per hour (pay is based on experience)



About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Martinsburg, WV. This individual will support both clinical and administrative operations while providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and record patient vital signs, including weight, height, blood pressure, and other clinical measurements.
  • Accurately document patient information in the EMR, including patient interviews, medical histories, treatments, and test results.
  • Assist providers and clinical staff with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain medical supplies, equipment, exam rooms, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations, federal/state requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Support preventative healthcare initiatives and contribute to a team-based approach to patient care.
  • Perform front office duties, including patient reception, check-in/check-out, payment collection, and electronic scheduling.
  • Perform routine screening tests as directed.
  • Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Collect and process other ordered laboratory specimens.
  • Prepare and administer injectable medications and immunizations as directed.
  • Perform wound care tasks including changing dressings, applying bandages, and removing sutures.
  • Assist patients with internal and external referral scheduling.
  • Support additional clinic needs and travel to other locations when required.


Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience required (family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, walk-in clinic, or similar setting preferred).
  • Comfortable performing independent blood draws.
  • Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or ProCPR).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Dependable, professional, and patient-focused.
