Position Summary
The Staff Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services. Reporting to the Pharmacist in Charge, this individual will support daily pharmacy operations, oversee pharmacy technicians and delivery personnel, and uphold the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription Verification & Clinical Review
- Verify and review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
- Perform drug utilization reviews and identify potential medication-related issues
- Ensure safe and compliant dispensing practices
- Provide patient counseling and medication education as needed
Team Leadership & Operational Support
- Oversee and support pharmacy technicians and delivery personnel
- Assist in maintaining efficient workflow and operational excellence
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Support training and development of pharmacy staff
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all Ohio State Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal pharmacy laws
- Safeguard prescription medications and controlled substances
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Service Coordination
- Coordinate pharmaceutical services and medication fulfillment
- Help ensure timely, accurate delivery of medications to patients
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff to optimize patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacist
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and medication safety practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of pharmacy experience in a retail, specialty, long-term care, or closed-door pharmacy setting
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring pharmacy technicians
- Experience with prescription verification and medication therapy management
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling available
- Must be available to work Sundays
- Ideal Sunday schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexibility available)
- Options include:
- 4 ten-hour shifts
- 3 twelve-hour shifts
- Customized schedules based on mutual needs
