Per Diem Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist in Ekron, KY

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An inpatient clinical pharmacist opportunity is available for a per diem assignment from June 22nd to June 26th at a small 25-bed critical access hospital. This position requires weekday availability, Monday through Friday, with shifts running from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The hospital setting involves a typical daily census of 8 to 15 patients, providing a dynamic environment suited for pharmacists experienced in hospital inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety
• Oversee and monitor pharmacy technicians during medication preparation and distribution
• Conduct medication cart fills to support inpatient medication delivery
• Manage Pyxis automated dispensing systems for controlled and routine medications

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and clear KY pharmacist license
• A minimum of 1 year recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy information system preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge paired with excellent interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams
