Responsibilities of the Purchasing Specialist:

  • purchases goods and services, equipment, office supplies, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous items for the plant.
  • Assign general ledger account numbers. Determine tax liability on purchase requisitions.
  • Research inquiries and resolve problems regarding orders, receipts and invoices.
  • Assists Receiving Coordinator with completed packing slips and delivery tickets, providing to accounts payable for processing.
  • Prioritize and review all invoices related to plant purchases.
  • Research projects as requested by the Division Accountant
  • Works with Accounts Payable Specialist to troubleshoot problems with material receipt or back orders.
  • Prepare purchasing reports as requested by management
  • Control petty cash

Skills/Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 year prior manufacturing or warehouse experience
  • 1 year prior administrative/coordinator experience
  • Proficient if PC and Software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Strong Math Skills
  • Excellent Organizational and communication skills
  • Must work independently and as a team.
